EFCC will tomorrow, Thursday arraign the Former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika over N2.7bn fraud.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika, along with three others including his daughter, Fatima, is set to appear before Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Maitama on Thursday. This arraignment stems from an amended six-count charge, alleging an abuse of office totaling N2.7 billion.

This Nigeria news platform understands that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been investigating Sirika for financial malfeasance, specifically related to contracts awarded during his tenure as minister. This led to his detention on April 23 after being interrogated at the EFCC’s Formella Street, Wuse 2 Zonal office in Abuja.

A source within the EFCC mentioned that Sirika has been cooperating with investigators regarding the alleged contract fraud. The initial arraignment date was scheduled for Tuesday but was postponed due to the EFCC’s request to amend the charges.
