BREAKING: Bayelsa Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo Dies After Sudden Collapse

Senator Ewhrudjakpo had served as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State since February 2020 and was a former Senator representing Bayelsa West.

Bayelsa Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has died after sudden collapse.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has passed away after collapsing unexpectedly in his office on Tuesday.

According to family sources and top government officials, he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa, where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after he arrived. All efforts to resuscitate him reportedly failed.

The 60-year-old deputy governor had slumped around midday while attending to official duties at Government House. Witnesses said he was immediately taken to the hospital in an emergency convoy.

His death has also been confirmed by Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo had served as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State since February 2020 and was a former Senator representing Bayelsa West.
