Abubakar Atiku is dead, fown back to Nigeria.

 

Newsonline reports that Alhaji Abubakar Atiku is dead. He died over the weekend in a hospital in Egypt after a brief illness.

This online news platform understands that the late Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, who was dethroned as the Emir of Zurmi in Zamfara state, northern Nigeria before his death, was flown out of the country a few days after family members noticed his health condition was deteriorating and needed urgent medical attention.

 

 

Newsonline Nigeria reports that Abubakar Atiku’s remains will be buried in his hometown, Zurmi where he was emir until he was deposed for allegedly conniving with bandits.

 

This news medium recalls that the Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle sacked the monarch over alleged involvement in banditry activities. He was detained in the Government House for some months.

 

The Emir and two other monarchs were later charged to court by the State government due to pressure from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The court, however, granted them bail
