
Newsonline reports that Atiku said the comeback of Shekarau has made the PDP family grow bigger, stating that the former Kano State governor would surely bring wealth of experience to the success of the 2023 election.
Atiku added that Shekarau will boost the chances of the PDP to oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano and the general election.
He said, “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family grew bigger today with the return of H.E Ibrahim Shekarau to our party. He surely will bring his wealth of experience and join hands with other party stakeholders to oust the APC and enthrone a new era of prosperity and good governance for Nigerians.”
Also reacting to the defection of the former Kano State governor, Delta State governor and the running mate to Atiku, Ifeanyi Okowa described the defection of Ibrahim Shekarau as a proud and stronger alliance.
“As we expanded the umbrella of the PDP to welcome Senator Shekarau and thousands of his stakeholders and supporters in Kano State, I am proud that our party is working to build stronger alliances with capable leaders ahead of the 2023 general election,” he said.
Newsonline had reported that the former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, a former New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) had accussed the presidential candidate of NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso of betrayal.
Shekarau’s Special Assistant, Yau Sule, had told journalists that the former NNPP chieftain would not return to the All Progressives Congress.
