APC reportedly got 352 votes from a polling unit of 213 accredited voters.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) could not deny the authenticity of a viral result sheet which showed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) got 352 votes when only 213 voters were accredited in the same polling unit during the Edo governorship election.

The polling unit in question was Osholo Primary School Polling Unit, Weppa, Etsako East Local Government Area. Josephine Obazuwa was the presiding officer for the polling unit on Saturday.

Meanwhile, INEC via @inecnigeria, its official X handle, saw the result sheet but could not deny the document’s authenticity.

Instead, the electoral commission stated that it would “investigate the matter and deal with any proven infraction”.

“The Commission’s attention has been drawn to an allegation of wrong figures entered into polling unit result sheets in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election,” the post reads.

“This is the second complaint we have received out of the 4,519 polling units used for the election.

“The Commission will immediately investigate the matter and deal with any proven infraction.”

Collation of election results is expected to commence at 10 am on Sunday.
