Blasphemy: Muslim Youths Burn Vigilante Member In Abuja

Muslim youths burn vigilante member in Abuja accused of blasphemy in the Lugbe, Abuja Municipal Council.

 

Newsonline reports that irate Muslim youths have burnt a vigilante member alive over allegation of blasphemy against Islam, on Saturday, at the Timber shed market, Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe, Abuja.

 

The late vigilante member whose identity is not yet identified by FCT Police Public Rations Officer, Josephine Adeh, is said to be a member of the Lugbe vigilante group.

 

Newsonline had reported cases of the killing a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Deborah, in Sokoto, by Muslim youths over allegation of blasphemy. Read more

The FCT Police Public Rations Officer, Josephine Adeh, when contacted on the alleged lynching said the command has not received any formal information on the case. She promised to release details immediately she verifies the alleged incident.

 

Newsonline reports that cases of Muslim youths taking laws into their hands by lynching citizens over alleged blasphemy has been on the rise, with about three cases already reported in the Northern part of Nigeria, including; Bauchi, Sokoto and at a Timbre market at Dei Dei, another community in Abuja.

 

Newsonline reports that arrests have not been made by security forces to stop an occurrence of the ugly incident that leads to the loss of live of Nigerians.
