NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has declared his determination to challenge what he described as injustice within the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the party’s governorship consensus arrangement in Gombe State.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Pantami said he is prepared to go to any length to ensure fairness in the party’s candidate selection process.
He expressed confidence that he would secure the party’s governorship ticket if a direct primary election is conducted.
“I will challenge this injustice of Gombe APC governorship consensus even if I lose my life doing it. If it’s direct primary, everybody knows we will win,” he said.
Pantami further stressed that he would pursue legal action if the process is not transparent, vowing to mount a strong challenge against what he considers an unfair system.
“If there’s no justice, I will fight it legally, a fight like never seen before in Nigeria,” he added.
His comments come amid growing debates within the APC over the use of consensus arrangements versus direct primaries ahead of key elections.
