Newsonline reports that CAN Chairman, Kaduna State chapter, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, stated this while responding to questions on the position of the Christian body following the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Rev. John Joseph Hayab stated that the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, and their presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu are desperate and acting Nollywood movie by their actions.
Rev. Hayab said, “The people we saw at the unveiling of Shettima as the presidential running mate to Bola Tinubu paraded as bishops are people who did not have enough time to learn how to wear bishop garments. Take a closer look at their photos and you will see another Nollywood movie.
“Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s team should simply do what is right and stop the drama. Because of desperation, the hired bishops took the shine off the occasion more than the candidate that was unveiled, what an irony.”
Rev Hayab, who is also CAN Chairman for the 19 Northern states said, “CAN appreciates that we are in a democracy, no need to do funny and dubious things just to prove a point because it will at the end bounce back.”
Rev. Hayab said the desperation of Tinubu and APC made them state they met with CAN National President when the said president was not in the country.
He explained, “A meeting that was not true and was on a night that the CAN president was in Alabama USA attending the Baptist World Alliance Conference of which he is the Vice President.”
Newsonline had reported that Tinubu, on Wednesday, (today), officially unveiled Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno State as running mate despite DSS report and citizens’ criticisms.
