Bandits’ Negotiator Sheikh Gumi has deniesd claims of Christian Genocide in Nigeria.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that controversial Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has rejected growing allegations of a targeted genocide against Christians in Nigeria.

His comments come amid increasing international attention and claims by foreign organisations suggesting systematic attacks on Christians, assertions repeatedly dismissed by the Federal Government and other key stakeholders.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Gumi argued that violent clashes across the country result in casualties on all sides, insisting that the narrative has been skewed to paint Fulani herders as the sole aggressors.

“The Christians at fault-line communities in conflict with herdsmen also attack and counterattack. They kill and they are also killed,” he wrote.

Gumi said his recent visits to Kano, Lagos, and Ibadan showed no evidence of targeted killings, noting that Christians continue to play active roles in governance, the economy, and the nation’s security architecture.

He also criticised calls for foreign military intervention, warning that such actions could escalate tensions and strengthen criminal groups.

“The only option left is to use our national resources equitably to educate, develop and protect all Nigerians, herdsmen included,” he added.
