About the Federal Fire Service

The Federal Fire Service is Nigeria’s lead agency for fire prevention, firefighting, rescue operations, and protection of lives and property. Its training institution, the National Fire Academy, oversees capacity building for firefighters nationwide.

In Q1 2025 alone, the FFS reported saving ₦319 billion worth of assets and rescuing 162 persons, while improving its average urban emergency response time from 15 minutes to approximately 10 minutes.
