Ahmadu Fatimah Receives Prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary International

Dr. Ahmadu was named a Paul Harris Fellow “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.”

Dr Ahmadu Fatimah has received prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary International in Lagos.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Dr. Ahmadu Fatimah has been honoured with the esteemed Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) Award by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International in recognition of her outstanding contributions to humanitarian service and the promotion of global understanding.

The award was presented on Monday at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, during the Rotary Club’s Traditional Cultural Night. The ceremony drew the presence of the Assistant District Governor, Past District Governors, Presidents and Past Presidents of Rotary Clubs, distinguished Rotarians, community leaders, and invited guests.

According to the official citation, Dr. Ahmadu was named a Paul Harris Fellow “in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.” The certificate bears the signatures of Holger Knaack, Chair of The Rotary Foundation Trustees, and Francesco Arezzo, President of Rotary International.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is among Rotary International’s highest honours. It is awarded to individuals who exemplify the principle of “Service Above Self” through meaningful humanitarian, educational, and community-based initiatives, including support for global peace-building and polio eradication efforts.

Speaking after receiving the award, Dr. Ahmadu expressed appreciation to Rotary International and her club for the recognition.

“This honour reaffirms my commitment to service, peace-building, and community development. Rotary’s values resonate deeply with my life’s work, and I am inspired to do even more in advancing understanding, compassion, and positive change across communities,” she said.

Dr. Ahmadu Fatimah is widely respected for her leadership, dedication to service, and active community engagement. The Paul Harris Fellow Award further highlights her contributions to humanitarian causes and her alignment with Rotary International’s mission to foster goodwill and peace worldwide.
