Abuja-Kaduna Train: Release Mamu For The Sake Of Our Families In Captivity-

Families of victims of bandits’ attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train in March have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the Department of State Services (DSS) to release Tukur Mamu to continue his negotiation for the victims’ release.

Newsonline reports that the families said Mamu has been instrumental in the negotiation leading to the release of many of the victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.

The families lamented that the arrest of Mamu would hinder the release of the victims who are still in captivity.

Yusufu Musa, a Kaduna resident begged the federal government to help release Tukur Mamu to assist in the release of his sister and other victims still held captive.

Mamu Tukur, an aide to another self-appointed bandits negotiator Sheikh Abubakar Ahmed was arrested in Egypt while on his way to Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj.

The Department of State Service (DSS) accused Mamu of aiding and abetting local and international terrorist groups using his profession as a journalist.

DSS also revealed that it found in the house of the Desert Herald publisher foreign currencies, ammunitions and military kits.

Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Maigari Dingiyadi, however, assured the victims’ families that the arrest of  Tukur Mamu, will not hinder efforts to release victims of the Kaduna train attack.

Dingiyadi stated this immediately after the National Security Council meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa on Thursday.
