Supporters have lambasted Manchester United after finding themselves 4-0 down at half-time against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium this evening.
Newsonline Report that After losing 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening weekend of the season, United manager Erik ten Hag was hoping for a response from his players, as he goes in search of his first win in the job. However, David de Gea’s tenth minute error, where he allowed Josh Dasilva’s effort to squirm through his hands and into the net, was the catalyst for what was to come.
The Bees added a further three goals to their tally in the space of just 17 first-half minutes. Mathias Jensen pounced on De Gea’s decision to play the ball out from the back before Ben Mee bundled the ball home from close range, after United failed to deal with a corner to make it 3-0.
Bryan Mbeumo, just five minutes later, raced clear to add a fourth to Brentford’s tally, meaning United found themselves 4-0 down at half-time for the very first time in a Premier League fixture away from home. It was a shambles of an opening 45 minutes, resulting in the travelling fans singing that the players are not fit to wear the shirt.
