Abia North: N5.2bn Project I Attracted Was Abandoned By Uzor Kalu- Ohuabunwa

Former senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, has lamented that the current senator of the constituency, Orji Uzor Kalu abandoned an N5.2 billion road project he attracted in the constituency.

 

Newsonline reports that Senator Mao Ohuabunwa also stated that the bills for the takeover of the College of Education Technical Arochukwu by the federal government, as well as the establishment of a federal polytechnic in Item, which had all passed third reading respectively, were both neglected by the former Abia State governor, Orji Kalu.

 

Ohuabunwa, who represented Abia North Constituency between 2015 to 2019 said the road project was Arochukwu–Ohafia–Bende federal road project.

 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain regretted that the people of Abia North lacked a representative since he left the senate.

Ohuabunwa spoke during the inauguration of members of his campaign council for Abia North 2023 senatorial district election, which took place in Umuahia.

 

He vowed to unseat Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and return to the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly come 2023 in continuation of service to the people towards enhancing their welfare.

 

He added that “Nobody speaks for us again. Something has to be done urgently, and for us to recover, we cannot afford to stand aloof. We must speak out now.”

 

Ohuabunwa called on the residents of Abia North to get their PVCs ready for a change of representative come the 2023 general election.
