El-Rufai has slammed Tinubu Government for derailing.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of failing to act in the best interest of Nigerians.

El-Rufai, who claimed to have played a key role in Tinubu’s emergence as president, said the current government has lost direction.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, he argued that some individuals want to silence his criticism of the Tinubu-led government, but insisted that leadership must always be held accountable.

“Everyone knows that I am one of the founding fathers of APC and that I made contributions in bringing Asiwaju (Tinubu) into the presidency. If Asiwaju’s government has derailed and is not doing what he should do, he is not serving the interests of Nigerians, so I should not criticise him? Is that the logic in Nigeria now? The purpose of government is to get things done for the people and the country,” El-Rufai said.

Meanwhile, the former Kaduna governor accused his successor, Governor Uba Sani, of orchestrating an attack against him and other opposition leaders in the state.

The chaos broke out on Saturday during the inauguration of a transition committee set up by opposition parties in Kaduna, when suspected thugs stormed the venue, attacking participants and vandalising property.

El-Rufai said he has obtained evidence linking the governor to the attack and vowed to present it to the Inspector General of Police.
