Arewa Group has allegedly uncovered plots to undermine Tinubu’s Government.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Reformed Arewa Youth Council of Nigeria (RAYCN) has raised concerns over an alleged plan to undermine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The group claims that certain individuals, working with both local and foreign elements, are coordinating activities that could threaten national stability.

In a statement issued on Thursday, RAYCN National President Bilal Abdulahi warned that these alleged efforts involve covert actions, mass protests, and activities aimed at creating unrest in parts of the North West, including Sokoto and Zamfara states.

The group expressed concern over what it described as attempts to discredit the government and create the perception of instability. It urged security agencies to investigate the situation and take necessary measures to safeguard national security.

RAYCN also called on youths, religious organizations, and civil society groups to remain vigilant and support efforts to maintain peace and democracy in the country. It emphasized the importance of unity and stability, urging all stakeholders to work towards national progress.

Abdullahi warned, “This is a matter of utmost state security concern. Its propensity and devastation can be better imagined. The country and indeed national security is under serious threat by the activities of these groups, and we cannot fold our arms until we are submerged or overawed by their actions.

“It is clear that their intention and their several meetings are aimed at creating unrest and making the citizens feel that the government and its various organs are not doing enough to improve the welfare of the people.

“This is nothing short of an attempt to destabilize a democratic institution, and it must be resisted with all necessary state powers.

“Ever since the elections, there have been visible efforts from certain groups to express dissatisfaction with the outcome and the functioning of various government organs.

“It is unfortunate that this dissatisfaction is pushing some to act in ways that may undermine the office of the President and pose a challenge to our democracy and the rule of law. These actions must be addressed promptly to prevent further escalation and to serve as a deterrent.”
