FCT Residents have looted NEMA Warehouse over the economic hardship and hunger in Nigeria.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that some residents of the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday looted a warehouse reportedly belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency over the current economic hardship across the country.

 

This Nigeria news platform learnt that the warehouse is situated in the Phase 3 Region of the FCT area of Abuja.

Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the spokesperson for the FCT command, Josephine Adeh, verified the incident in a text message saying, “The situation is now under control.”

 

Recall that recently human rights groups, the Joint Action Front and the Coalition for Revolution hit the streets of Lagos State to protest against the soaring price of food and the high cost of living in the country.

NewsOnline Nigeria observed that protesters gathered around the Mokola area in the state wielding placards with various inscriptions such as ‘End food hike and inflation,’ ‘The poor are starving,’ and ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises,’ among others.

They were also chanting songs to show their grievances.
