Adeleke: Be Magnanimous In Victory, Avoid To Be Misled By Sycophants- Ooni

The paramount ruler of Ife, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has advised the governor-elect of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to be magnanimous in victory and avoid being misled by sycophants.

Newsonline reports that Ooni advised Senator Adeleke to ensure that Osun indigenes who voted for him because of their trust in him enjoy maximum dividends of democracy and good governance.

The Ooni of Ife warned Senator Ademola to avoid hypocrites and sycophants and to see no other politician as an enemy.

Oba Adeyeye stated this in a congratulatory message signed by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Moses Olafare, on Monday, to Senator Ademola Adeleke who won the Osun governorship election, held on Saturday, July 16.

Senator Adeleke under the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

The Ooni said, “Senator Ademola Adeleke has been around for some time and his eventual victory is an opportunity for him to execute his election promises as much as possible.

“I urge him to be magnanimous in victory and justify the mandate of our people which confirms his grassroots popularity by ensuring that Osun indigenes enjoy maximum dividends of democracy and good governance driven by rule of law, fear of God, and selfless service to the people.

“Mr Governor-Elect must avoid to be misled by hypocrisy and sycophancy of some arrogant political lieutenants’ who may want to instigate him against merely perceived political enemies both in his party and in the opposition parties. Vendetta is capable of derailing a leader.”

The Ooni of Ife also congratulated the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola, for his peaceful approach to the concluded election.
