AYDAN has applauded Sanwo-Olu over the appointment of Ibrahim Buba Jagaba as Senior Special Adviser on Arewa Matters.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Alimosho Youth Development Association of Nigeria (AYDAN) has commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, for appointing one of its members, Comrade Ibrahim Buba Jagaba, popularly known as “Funky Malam,” as Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Arewa Matters.

In a statement signed by the association’s General Secretary, Comrade Mubarak Ola Lawal, AYDAN described the appointment as a recognition of Jagaba’s competence, experience, intellectual capacity, community service and commitment to peaceful coexistence.

The association said the appointment also reflected Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to building an inclusive Lagos where individuals with proven capacity and dedication are given opportunities to contribute to the development of the state, irrespective of ethnic background.

According to AYDAN, Jagaba’s appointment is particularly significant because of his longstanding involvement in community affairs and his relationships with people from different ethnic backgrounds across Lagos.

The association’s Convener, Hon. Comrade Ogungbade Olawale Lateef, who is also Supervisor for ICT and Digital Development at Egbe Idimu LCDA, described Jagaba as a man of knowledge, intellectual ability, strong communication skills and community consciousness.

Lateef said Jagaba’s fluency in English, Yoruba and Hausa, combined with his experience and understanding of Lagos’ diverse population, positioned him to effectively discharge his new responsibilities.

AYDAN said it expects the appointment to further strengthen relationships among Yoruba, Arewa and other communities living and working across Lagos State.

The association expressed confidence that Jagaba would use his new position to promote dialogue, understanding, cooperation, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among the various communities.

“We have no doubt that Ibrahim Buba Jagaba will justify the confidence reposed in him by His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu. His knowledge, communication skills, community experience and understanding of our diverse society place him in a strong position to succeed in this important assignment,” the association said.

AYDAN also described the appointment as an indication that grassroots participation, community service and competence remain relevant to governance.

The association said the appointment was a source of pride to its members and the people of Alimosho, noting that one of its own had been entrusted with an important responsibility in the Lagos State Government.

While congratulating Jagaba, AYDAN urged him to view the appointment as an opportunity to serve the people, build bridges among communities and contribute to the continued development of Lagos State.

The association expressed confidence that he would deploy his experience, knowledge, communication skills and community relationships in carrying out his new assignment.

AYDAN also thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for recognising Jagaba’s capacity and giving him the opportunity to serve the state.

The association prayed for wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance for Jagaba as he begins his new assignment.

It expressed optimism that his appointment would contribute to stronger community relations, peaceful coexistence, greater understanding and the continued unity and development of Lagos State.
