APC dominatesd by-elections in Enugu, Kano, Ondo, Nasarawa, and Kebbi as PDP retains Rivers seat.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the winners of the by-elections conducted on Saturday across several states, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) recording major victories in key senatorial districts and constituencies.
Results released by INEC Returning Officers showed that the APC won in Enugu, Kano, Ondo, Nasarawa and Kebbi States, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured victory in the Rivers South-East Senatorial District.

The by-elections were held to fill vacancies created by deaths, appointments, and other developments involving former lawmakers.
Enugu: APC Wins Enugu North Senatorial By-Election
The APC candidate, Ikeje Asogwa, emerged victorious in the Enugu North Senatorial District by-election.
Asogwa polled 162,360 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Nestor Ezeme, who secured 9,299 votes.
The election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of former senator Okey Ezea, who died on November 18, 2025, at the age of 62.
Kebbi: APC Candidate Wins Zuru State Constituency Seat
In Kebbi State, INEC declared Rabiu Garba Aiki winner of the Zuru State Constituency by-election into the State House of Assembly.
Aiki garnered 4,887 votes, defeating Labour Party candidate Aliyu Galadima Muhammad, who polled 168 votes.
The seat became vacant following the death of former Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru.
Kano: APC Triumphs in Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency
INEC also declared APC candidate Rabiu Shuaibu winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State.
Shuaibu polled 35,356 votes to defeat Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who secured 268 votes, and Labour Party candidate Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad, who scored 98 votes.
The by-election followed the death of former lawmaker Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Rivers: PDP Retains Rivers South-East Senatorial Seat
In Rivers State, PDP candidate Olaka Nwogu emerged victorious in the Rivers South-East Senatorial District by-election.
Nwogu secured 47,961 votes, defeating APC candidate Osar Erewari, who polled 1,647 votes.
The election was held following the death of Senator Barry Mpigi in February.
Ondo: APC’s Dayo Faduyile Wins Ondo South Senatorial Poll
APC candidate Dayo Faduyile won the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election.
Faduyile polled 68,474 votes to defeat Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement, who secured 1,411 votes.
The by-election became necessary after the appointment of former senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Nasarawa: APC Secures Another Victory
In Nasarawa State, APC candidate Danladi Envulu-anza won the Nasarawa North Senatorial by-election with 45,362 votes.
Labour Party candidate Labaran Maku polled 12,931 votes, while PDP candidate Emmanuel David Ombugadu secured 11,570 votes.
The election was conducted in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Wamba local government areas to fill the vacant seat left by the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki, who died after a prolonged illness.
