The Board emphasised that the application process is entirely free.

The Board also clarified that personnel of paramilitary services are not eligible to participate in this recruitment exercise.

Why It Matters

The recruitment initiative provides an opportunity for serving civil servants to advance into leadership roles within the Federal Fire Service, in line with the government’s policy of promoting internal recruitment for sensitive security and emergency-response positions.

About the Federal Fire Service

The Federal Fire Service is Nigeria’s lead agency for fire prevention, firefighting, rescue operations, and protection of lives and property. Its training institution, the National Fire Academy, oversees capacity building for firefighters nationwide.

In Q1 2025 alone, the FFS reported saving ₦319 billion worth of assets and rescuing 162 persons, while improving its average urban emergency response time from 15 minutes to approximately 10 minutes.
