Breaking: Yobe North- Senate President, Lawan, Has No Plan To Appeal Court Judgement

The Yobe North Senatorial Candidate under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bashir Machina, has mocked the incumbent senator representing the zone in the national assembly, the senate president, Ahmed Lawan.

Newsonline reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Damaturu, Yobe State, on Wednesday, ordered the APC to submit the name of Machina to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the senatorial candidate for the zone ahead of the 2023 election.

The Yobe North APC senatorial candidate, Bashir Sheriff Machina, who hailed the Federal High Court judgment that declared him as the authentic senatorial candidate of the APC said the judgment was victory after plans to deny him of the mandate given to him by the people of the zone.

Machina, who reacted to the development through his media aide, Husaini Mohammed Isa in a statement made available to newsmen, also called on all his supporters and people of Yobe North to remain calm and law-abiding.

The APC chieftain, who declared the judgment as “no victor, no vanquished” called on supporters and the senate president to join hands with him for the good of the people and the zone.

“I welcome the decision of the Judge of the Federal High Court, Damaturu. It is a victory that stands for justice. It is now time to set aside our differences and close ranks for the impending battle, the next war we must wage is the war for APC’s victory in the coming 2023 general elections”, he said.

Recall that the senate president, Ahmed Lawan who has been in the senate since 1999 contested the APC presidential candidate in June, but lost to the presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
