Wilfred Ndidi Scores First Goal for Beşiktaş in Victory Over Konyaspor

The Nigerian midfielder opened his account for the Turkish giants as the Black Eagles secured a hard-fought win against Konyaspor.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi scored his first goal for Beşiktaş on Wednesday night, inspiring the Turkish giants to a 2-0 victory over Konyaspor in their Super Lig encounter at the Konya Buyuksehir Belediye Stadium.

Ndidi, who was recently appointed vice-captain of the club, delivered a dominant display in midfield alongside skipper Orkun Kökcü. Their partnership paid off in the 32nd minute when Kökcü set up Ndidi, who calmly slotted home his maiden goal for the Black Eagles.

Konyaspor attempted to mount a comeback and enjoyed more possession, but Beşiktaş stayed compact and held their lead into halftime.

The visitors doubled their advantage midway through the second half when Tammy Abraham capitalised on a goalkeeping error from Derniz Ertas, dispossessing him before firing into an empty net. The English striker later had another goal ruled out by VAR for offside.

The win lifts Beşiktaş to sixth place in the Super Lig table with 16 points, while Konyaspor drop to ninth with 11 points.

It was a much-needed boost for Coach Sergen Yalçın, whose side had faced criticism following a 2-1 home defeat to Gençlerbirliği the previous weekend.

The result ends Beşiktaş’s two-game winless streak and highlights their growing momentum on the road, having collected seven points from their last three away matches.

Beşiktaş will aim to extend their fine form when they host Kasımpaşa on Sunday, while Konyaspor will seek redemption in their upcoming trip to Gençlerbirliği.
