Wike Says ‘Soludo Is Jealous Of Peter Obi’, Reveals Why Obi Left PDP

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has slammed his Anambra State counterpart, Charles Soludo for attacking the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Monday without provocation.

Newsonline reports that Wike described the governor of Anambra State as jealous of the height the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has achieved in his ambition to be the president of the country come 2023 election.

Governor Wike also lamented that the former governor of Anambra State, Obi, was forced out of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because of the humiliation that was meted out to him.

Wike who stated this at the commissioning of the Ikoku flyover by Peter Obi and his vice-presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmad, on Thursday, described the former Anambra governor as a good man who deserved to rule the country.

Wike said, “You have worked very well in Anambra. But some people because of the level you are now, they are envying you, they can come out and say all manner of rubbish, don’t worry, that is how it is.

“It is your own people that will kill you first, so don’t bother about those things. I have told people, stop criticizing people who have already left. If you are a professor, professor well, if you are a doctor, doctor well.”

Speaking on what transpired that made the Labour party presidential candidate leave the PDP, Wike said the treatment given to Peter Obi was deserving that he left the party to work for his ambition.

He, however, said, unlike Peter Obi, he (Wike) will not leave the PDP, stating that he would remain in the party and fight to rescue the party from armed robbers.

He said, “You were in our party, and I know why you left. Now let me tell you, the humiliation you suffered, I know. Most of you don’t know and nobody could hear what he passed through.

“You could not stay in the party, but I will not leave. I will stay there, I will fight the vandals, I will fight the tigers, I will fight the hyenas.

“You of principle you should leave, but me I will not leave this house, I will never allow armed robbers to take over my house. I am going to stay to chase away the armed robbers.”
