Newsonline reports that the United States on Sunday, 23rd October 2022 issued a security advisory on insecurity in Nigeria.
According to the advisory sighted by Newsonline, the US asked its citizens to avoid all non-essential travel or movement as a result of what it termed an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, especially Abuja.
The advisory, which is on the US Embassy website reads in part: ” Event: There is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja. Targets may include, but are not limited to, government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organizations. The U.S. Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice.
