NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Unity Bank Plc has unveiled an enhanced version of its Unifi mobile banking application, reinforcing its commitment to delivering a seamless, secure, and customer-centric digital banking experience.
The upgraded platform, Unifi version 2.3, introduces a range of new and improved features aimed at boosting usability, security, and convenience for customers. Key enhancements include stronger security protocols, expanded quick-action functions, improved bill payment options, and an upgraded Nigeria Quick Response (NQR) feature to enable faster and more secure QR-code transactions.
The latest rollout builds on Unity Bank’s sustained investment in digital and security infrastructure, designed to protect customer data, ensure safe payments, and support secure, real-time transactions across multiple channels.
Commenting on the upgrade, Adenike Abimbola, Divisional Head, Retail, SME, Digital Banking & Fintech Partnerships at Unity Bank, said the improvements were driven by continuous customer feedback gathered through regular engagement.
“Digital banking has become an essential part of daily life, especially for retail customers who demand speed, convenience, reliability, and security,” Abimbola said. “With the latest upgrade to Unifi, we have strengthened functionality, enhanced security, and simplified transaction journeys to ensure customers can bank confidently, anytime and anywhere.”
She added that the bank remains committed to the continuous improvement of its digital channels in line with evolving customer needs and emerging industry trends.
“As mobile banking increasingly defines how customers interact with financial services, Unifi remains central to our strategy of delivering intuitive, reliable, and inclusive digital solutions,” she noted. “We will continue to invest in technology partnerships and platform enhancements that drive adoption, support financial inclusion, and improve overall customer experience.”
Initially launched as part of Unity Bank’s strategy to expand its retail footprint, particularly among young and digitally savvy customers the Unifi platform has evolved into a key driver of the bank’s retail growth and broader digital transformation agenda.
The Unifi mobile app is available on Android and iOS, offering customers access to services such as fund transfers, bill payments, airtime purchases, and QR-enabled transactions.
