Seun Kuti Slams Dangote Group Over Truck Accident That Left Phyna’s Sister Amputated

Seun Kuti has slammed Dangote Group over truck accident that left Phyna’s sister amputated.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has strongly condemned the Dangote Group following a recent accident involving one of its trucks, which left Ruth Otabor, sister of reality TV star Phyna, with one leg amputated and fighting for survival.

In a video shared on Instagram, Kuti described the incident as a glaring example of how powerful business interests in Nigeria allegedly escape proper regulation and accountability, even when lives are lost.

The musician argued that similar cases in other countries would have attracted multi-billion-dollar lawsuits and heavy compensation, stressing that the lack of justice in Nigeria allows such companies to continue operating without consequence.

Kuti also recalled previous fatal crashes involving Dangote trucks, noting that Nigerians have continued to pay the price with their lives while the system shields the powerful.

“No man wey I don attack for Nigeria reach Dangote,” Kuti said in the video. “Nowhere in this world can you operate business the way this man operates in our country and get away with it. Civil lawsuits alone would have buried these companies.”

He accused the Dangote business empire of thriving at the expense of citizens, alleging that the monopoly on essential goods has made basic commodities unaffordable for ordinary Nigerians.

The singer further criticized officials and influencers who defend the conglomerate instead of standing with victims, describing such actions as heartless.

The accident involving Phyna’s sister has once again revived public concerns over repeated road tragedies linked to Dangote trucks and the lack of visible accountability measures.
