Senate announces date to pass 2024 Budget

Senate has announced date to pass 2024 Budget.

 

Newsonline Nigeria reports that the Nigerian Senate Says it will ensure that the 2024 Appropriations Bill is passed before the 31st of December this year.

 

Also, the upper legislative chamber is expecting the Proposed Medium Term Expenditure and Fiscal Strategy Paper alongside the 2024 Appropriation Bill in two weeks.

The Chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Appropriations , Senator Solomon Olamilekan disclosed this at the inaugural meeting of his committee and also promised a thorough and timely consideration of the budget proposal.

 

He says the National Assembly will continue to sustain the tradition of a one year budget circle, and Lawmakers will work to put the executive on its toes for speedy assent to the bill and ensure implementation can begin in earnest.
