Newsonline reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced issuing of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to citizens ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The electoral body announced earlier that collection of the PVCs at registration areas/wards across Nigerian states would begin on Friday, January 6, 2023.
It commenced the distribution of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to registrants at the 8,809 electoral wards across Nigeria.
The transfer of PVC collection to the 8,809 Registration Areas/Wards commenced on Friday 6th to Sunday 15th.
It however said that the commission will after the 15th of January 2023, the exercise will revert to the Local Government Offices of the Commission until the 22nd of January 2023.
All eligible and valid registrants can collect their PVCs from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm daily, including Saturdays and Sundays.”
The electoral body said all those who applied for the replacement of lost, damaged, or defaced PVCs can collect their PVCs at the wards during the same period.
In lieu of this, the Lagos State chapter of the commission on Friday released a table showing centres in each Local government area where electorates can obtain their cards ahead of the February 25 polls.
