NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu announced 11 new appointments into various positions across different sectors of the Nigerian economy on Saturday.
With President Tinubu’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, making the announcement via statements which he said is a record, here is the list of the appointees and their portfolios.
1. Mr. Silas Agara: Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). Agara, a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, was the director of the Independent Campaign Council for Tinubu-Shettima.
2. Mr Umar Ibrahim Mohammed: Director-General of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA). Mohammed is an architect and a construction technology and environment professional.
3. Mr. Baffa Dan Agundi: Director-General of the National Productivity Centre (NPC). Agundi is a former majority leader of the Kano State House of Assembly. He was also the Principal Registrar of the Kano State High Court of Justice.
4. Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo: Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA). Adebayo is an engineer and also a community and social development expert.
5. Mr. Saleh Abubakar: Director-General of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW).
6. Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi: Project Coordinator for the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP). Adekanmbi was Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture and Tourism in Ondo State and a Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) member.
7. Mr. Tosin Adeyanju: Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF).
8. Mr. Oluwaseun Faleye: Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). Faleye is a legal and corporate finance specialist.
B. Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay: Executive Director (Operations) of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). Alli-Macaulay is a former lawmaker and former Chairperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and Job Creation.
9. Ms. Omolola Bridget Oloworaran: Nominated as the new Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom). Oloworaran is a finance and banking expert with many years of experience.
Her appointment is, however, subject to the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate, according to Tinubu, as stated by Ngelale.
10. Mr Jobson Ewalefoh: nominated as Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
Ngelale also said that Ewalefoh’s appointment is subject to the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate.
Tinubu’s spokesman, Ngelale on Saturday night wrote on X: “We are done for today. We have broken the State House record for statements issued in a single day. Congrats to the PBAT Presidency!,” he said with a laughing emoji.
