
Newsonline reports that the president, Buhari said Bisi Amagada as the first female editor of The Observer newspaper is worthy to be emulated by all and lived an impacting life.
In a statement released by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the president of Media and Publicity, Buhari thanked the veteran journalist for her contribution to the growth of journalism.
Part of the statement read, “President Buhari joins family members, friends and relations to celebrate the journalist, who served as Board member of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and New Nigeria Newspapers, bringing her wealth of experience in the newsroom to grow many media houses in the country.
“The President notes the brilliance, clarity and accuracy that Amagada projects in her writings and administrative work, consistently placing interest of the country and citizens in right perspective, while drawing her inspiration from deep fear of God, and love for studying the Holy Bible.
“As the veteran journalist, who is a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, turns an octogenarian, President Buhari commends her courage in choosing a career in journalism, and following through the rigorous demands of travelling, thinking, writing and meeting deadlines.
“The President prays for the wellbeing of Bisi Amagada and her family.”
