PDP Crisis: It’s Political Disagreement, Not War Of Attrition- Atiku Replies

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said the party is undergoing political disagreement and not engaged in war of attrition.

Newsonline reports that Atiku’s statement comes amid an unceasing attack from the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and his camp in their quest for the resignation of the national chairman of the party Iyorchia Ayu.

Governor Wike on Friday (today) in a media chat with selected television stations launched multple attacks and accused the national chairman, Ayu of corruption and working to destroy the party in the incoming 2023 election.

The camp of Wike, which includes stakeholders from the South, such as Makinde of Oyo State, Ikpeazu of Abia State, Ortom of Benue State, Mimiko, Fayose and Bode George among others pulled out from the Atiku campaign council, reinstating their call that the national chairman must resign from his position for a Southerner.

Wike has alleged that Ayu promised to resign from his position in the build-up to the May 28 and 29 presidential primary election of the party, at the house of Bala Mohammed, Bauchi State governor in Abuja.

In an indirect reply to Wike’s multiple attacks against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku and the national chairman, Ayu, Governor Tambuwal Aminu of Sokoto State who represented the former vice president in Akwa-Ibom 35 years anniversary said the party will pass the troublesome time it found itself.

Waziri Tambuwal said, ”we are not involved or engaged in a war of attrition.

“It is a political disagreement and very soon all of that would be resolved and the PDP will continue to remain strong and grow until we win the election by the Grace of God come February 2023.”
