2023 Elections

Our Only Worry Is Peter Obi, Not Atiku- Tinubu Campaign Council

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council for Tinubu/Shettima presidency has said they are worried about Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party and not Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Newsonline reports that Chief  Osita Okechukwu, a member of the Tinubu campaign council said the ruling party is sincerely worried that the Labour Party presidential candidate is pulling a political threat against its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Chief Osita Okechukwu who is Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) said his party, APC, has not seen what will make it to be afraid of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Chief Okechukwu said this on Monday while speaking on Arise TV morning show.

“Atiku is not a match for our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He cannot eat his cake and have it,” he said

“Our only worry as a party is Mr. Peter Obi and not Atiku.” the APC Chieftain added.

Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos, is contesting for the 2023 election to be the president of Nigeria. The former Lagos governor who is in the ruling party is contesting against a former vice president of the country, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of Labour Party.

Peter Obi, who was a former vice-presidential candidate of Atiku in 2019 general election, in May 2022, dumped the PDP for his new party, Labour Party.

Obi’s campaign mantra of moving the country from consumption to production resonates well among Nigerian youths and the working class across all religions and ethnicity of the country.

Nigerian youths and working class which are the voting block in 2023 election see Obi as a different politician from the old order of Nigerian politicians who have been accused of being responsible for corruption that kept  Africa’s largest economy nation on its knees.

As a former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi has consistently declared he would withdraw from the 2023 presidential race if any corruption or mismanagement of resources can be traced to him as a once governor of Anambra State.

All polls conducted by online and traditional media, and by local and international policy organizations showed Peter Obi is the preferred candidate to win the Nigeria 2023 election.
