Ogun State: Abiodun Rigged, Rigged, Ended Up With 19,000- Amosun

Former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has said the incumbent governor, Dapo Abiodun, won the 2019 election by rigging votes to the tune of 19,000.

Newsonline reports that Senator Abiodun said he still maintains that he would never support the incumbent administration Dapo.

He added that he would continue to work to ensure that Dapo does not get his second tenure come 2023.

Senator Amosun said this on Friday in Abeokuta after receiving an award from the Abeokuta Club to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the association.

In the 2019 election, Ibikunle Amosun supported Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement against Abiodun candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

While Akinlade had 222,153 votes, Abiodun secured 241,670 votes, winning with 19,517 votes.

Amosun also revealed that some of the politicians who helped Abiodun to rig the 2019 election came and apologized to him.

While addressing the Abeokuta Club, Amosun said, “During the last election, thank God, Chief Osoba is here, I have said it, we won convincingly. They rigged, rigged, and ended up with 19,000.

“Some of them came to apologize to me. I can’t be mentioning names. We won that election. But I have moved on.

“We did our work. We will continue to do what we have to do. God will be with all of us.”

Speaking later with newsmen after receiving the award, Amosun stated that his next political move will be disclosed soon.

“Well, I am happy. When you are in a place and they are telling you that you have done the work of four or five governors altogether. I feel elated. I am happy that they appreciated our little efforts.

“Just wait, very soon, you will hear where we are going next. Clearly, you know my stand, and my stand is my stand. I am not supporting this administration that is there now. He must be removed,” he said.
