Machina Be Careful, Your Issue Is Getting Out Of Hand – APC Chair Adamu

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Abdullahi Adamu has warmed Machina to be careful as his issue is getting out of hand as it concerns Yobe North senatorial district candidacy.

Newsonline reports that Abdullahi Adamu gave the warning to Machina on Thursday while speaking with BBC Hausa on the candidacy of the Yobe North senatorial district.

Senator Adamu said as far as he is concerned as APC National Chairman, there is no law in the country that prohibits Lawan from contesting for a political post if he loses another.

The battle for Yobe North’s senatorial candidate has remained in high gear following the refusal of Machina, the winner of the primary election under APC to represent Yobe North in the National Assembly.

Bashir Machina won APC Yobe North senatorial ticket, however, his name was missing in the list submitted by his party, APC, to INEC.

Reacting, Machina said, “I don’t know whether it was erroneous, my name was not in the list of the names that was said to be presented today to INEC. For the avoidance of doubt, I remain the candidate duly elected of the APC Yobe North Zone C senatorial zone.”

Senate President Ahmad Lawan has been the senator representing Yobe North in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senate, since the return to civilain rule in 1999.

Ahmad Lawan, did not contest the senatorial primary election of APC, because he was contesting for the presidential election.

He however, lost the APC presidential primary election to Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State.

The senate president wants to take back the Yobe North ticket from Bashir Machina, who has refused.

The ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, is at the risk of losing the senate president Ahmad Lawan to opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and his supporters if he does not get Yobe North ticket back.

To sooth Ahmad Lawan, the ruling party reportedly submitted, Lawan’s name to INEC.

On Thursday, speaking to BBC Hausa, Adamu said: “If you don’t know how to set a trap for a thief, the thief will set the trap for you. Machina should be careful; his issue is getting out of hand. As far I am concerned as chairman, my party did not violate any law.

“Is there any law that says you cannot contest for a position after contesting for another one? No law prohibits anyone from doing so.”
