JAMB Announces Official Date For 2025 UTME Registration (See Exam Dates)

2025 UTME:“Registration must be completed within the designated window, as late submissions will not be entertained,” JAMB stated.

JAMB has announced the official date for 2025 UTME Registration and also confirmed the exam dates.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has formally announced the registration, and examination dates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The tertiary institutions’ entrance examination board disclosed that prospective candidates can begin their registration on January 31, 2025, with the process set to end on March 5, 2025.

Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar/chief executive officer at JAMB disclosed this during a meeting with media executives in Lagos, besides, he revealed that the 2025 UTME will commence on March 8, 2025, with a mock examination scheduled for February 23, 2025, for candidates who opt to participate.

The board reiterates that to ensure a smooth process of the 2025 registration, all candidates must meet the mandatory requirements, including providing their National Identification Number (NIN).

According to JAMB, “The NIN will be used to create a profile code, a prerequisite for the registration process. Candidates are required to send their NIN via text to either 55019 or 66019 to generate the code.

“For those opting to include the mock examination as part of their UTME registration, a fee of ₦8,200 will apply. Candidates who wish to sit only for the UTME without the mock will pay ₦7,200, while those registering for Direct Entry (DE) will pay ₦5,700.”

Oloyede explained that the mock examination is designed to allow candidates to familiarise themselves with the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) format and enhance their preparation.

JAMB has also introduced a separate trial-testing mock for candidates below the age of 16 who wish to experience the CBT process without participating in the main UTME.

The registrar of JAMB said that the increase in the number of examination centres is to accommodate the growing number of candidates. The board has approved 870 computer-based test centres for the 2025 UTME, a notable increase from the 747 centres used in 2024.

“This expansion aims to minimise technical challenges and ensure a seamless experience for all participants,” JAMB states.

In addition, JAMB emphasised its dedication to providing candidates with an improved registration and examination process. “The board believes that candidates participating in the 2025 UTME will experience an examination like never before,” Oloyede said, highlighting steps taken to address issues from previous years.

He advised candidates for the 2025 UTME to prepare early by creating their profiles, gathering necessary documents, and staying updated through JAMB’s official platforms.

“Registration must be completed within the designated window, as late submissions will not be entertained,” JAMB stated.

The board also reaffirms its commitment to maintaining transparency, efficiency, and fairness in the UTME process, ensuring candidates have the best possible experience in 2025.
