NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has established its state collation centre for the ongoing Anambra State governorship election.
A visit to the INEC headquarters in Awka confirmed that the collation centre has been set up within the commission’s premises in preparation for the receipt and announcement of results from across the state.
An INEC official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that the commission will begin receiving results from local government areas as soon as they are ready.
Anambra State has 21 local government areas. While the state boasts a relatively good road network, some LGAs — particularly those in riverine zones — may face delays in result transmission due to accessibility challenges.
NewsOnline Nigeria is currently on the ground at the collation centre and will provide live updates and announcements as results start arriving.
