
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Inspector-General of Police has redeployed the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to the Delta State Command as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations.
Adejobi, who was recently promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner (DCP), had served as the image maker of the Nigeria Police Force since February 2022. He initially assumed the role in an acting capacity before being confirmed by former IGP Usman Alkali Baba (Rtd).
A seasoned officer with vast experience in operations, public relations, and law enforcement advocacy, Adejobi studied Archaeology and Geography at the University of Ibadan, where he also earned a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies.
He has held several notable positions, including Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Ogun State Command (2008–2016), Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos (2016), and Lagos State Command (2020–2021).
Beyond policing, Adejobi is a member of professional bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), International Public Relations Association (IPRA), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP, USA), Pointman Leadership Institute (USA), and the Institute of Corporate Administration, Nigeria.
