
The university community of University of Ibadan (UI) was thrown into mourning following an attack by gunmen which led to the death of a NECO official living in the school.
Newsonline reports that the gunmen, eyewitnesses said, invaded the University of Ibadan and killed an official of the National Examination Council (NECO) identified as Vincent Odinko.
Sources further confirmed that Vincent Odinko gadgets including mobile phones and a laptop were stolen by the gunmen.
The incident reportedly happened at night, on October 30th. The gunmen broke into the Boys Quarters of a staff building where Odinko was said to be living with his family.
The late Odinko worked with NECO’s Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination Internal Unit, Ibadan.
While confirming the attack, Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, said investigations are ongoing.
“Investigations have since commenced. Updates would be provided, please,” Osifeso said.
