Nneka Anibeze, the Special Assistant to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiiya Umar Farouq, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Ms Farouq urged the independent monitors in the state to be diligent while monitoring the various NSIPs in the state.

She explained that the federal government picked the independent monitors from the thousands trained nationwide, including Bauchi, from February to April 2021.

The minister further revealed that the tablets had some applications for data capturing and reports that would ensure that the ministry gets daily feedback on the activities on the monitors.

“Using this application, the ministry sees a real-time report of activities of the independent monitors on the field. We can view reports submitted and see the NSIP performance indicators by state and detect areas of challenges.

“This will provide greater visibility to the ministry and equip us with information to follow up with implementation happening at the state level,” she said.

Ms Farouq said the monitors would report to the ministry all its NSIPs. These include the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfer, and the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme NHGSFP.

“Each independent monitor will earn N30,000 monthly for a period of one year and must meet up to 80 per cent of their deliverables monthly to be eligible for their stipend,” added Ms Farouq.
