EPL: Bernardo Silva Criticizes Referee Oliver for Allowing Time-Wasting

Silva Calls for Better Refereeing Standards After Disruptive Match

Bernardo Silva criticized referee Mike Oliver for permitting time-wasting tactics that disrupted the match, arguing that such actions affect the game’s flow and fairness.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that Bernardo Silva has criticized referee Michael Oliver after Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

The midfielder asserted that Oliver permitted several instances of time-wasting during the match at the Etihad Stadium.

Goals from Erling Haaland, Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel Magalhães, and John Stones resulted in both teams earning a point.

Arsenal was down to ten players after Leandro Trossard was shown a red card during the match.

Silva remarked, “The referee allowed several time-wasting instances. What frustrates me most is the repeated meetings we have with the FA.”

He added, “They promise to address these issues, but in the end, it doesn’t lead to any meaningful change.”
