Newsonline Nigeria reports that Victor Olatunji, forward for Sparta Prague, has highlighted his impressive performance in the club’s 3-0 victory over Salzburg on Wednesday. In the match, Olatunji made a significant impact by scoring a goal and providing an assist.
The 25-year-old made history as the first Nigerian to both score and register an assist on his UEFA Champions League debut. He also became the third African player to achieve this milestone, marking a notable achievement in his career.
In an interview with UEFA’s official website, Olatunji expressed his excitement and satisfaction with his performance. “I feel fantastic and am thrilled with my performance because I worked hard to reach this point. I’m also delighted for the team,” he said.
Reflecting on his contributions during the game, Olatunji shared his thoughts on his goal and assist. “My only goal was to score, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. We always play as a team, and I truly enjoyed the game. For the third goal, I chose to pass rather than shoot, as I wanted to ensure we had the best chance to score and avoid a missed opportunity that could have hurt the team.”
