
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu has appointed former governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Umaru Al-Makura, as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa made the disclosure on Tuesday while launching the AFD supported ICT Development Project in 10 selected Nigerian universities.
Al-Makura, a businessman and politician, is noted to have spearheaded several developmental projects in Nasarawa State.
UBEC, a federal intervention agency under the Ministry of Education, is responsible for the release of counterpart funding for basic education delivery across the country.
