BREAKING: Soludo’s Family Releases Statement, Says Peter Obi Is The Best Candidate

"I would appreciate not being dragged into this. I am not an extension of anybody I have my own opinions and always think Peter Obi is the best candidate. All this has nothing to do with me."

The family and son, Ozonna, of the governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo have said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, remains their choice and is the best candidate for the 2023 election.

Newsonline reports that Ozonna Soludo distanced himself from the attacks his father heaped on the former governor of Anambra State on Monday.

Governor Soludo had in a statement published on Monday said the Labour Party presidential candidate will not win the 2023 election. He added that Peter knows he cannot win and will not win but wants to have fun with the frenzy moment.

Reacting to the attack of his father on Peter Obi, the 28 years UK-based musician called on fans to not involve his family and himself in his father’s opinion.

Ozonna wrote on his Facebook page, “I would appreciate not being dragged into this. I am not an extension of anybody I have my own opinions and always think Peter Obi is the best candidate. All this has nothing to do with me.”

Soludo’s statement also gathered criticism from many Nigerians who see his statement as an attack on the person of the former governor of Anambra State.

However, the presidential campaign council of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour party presidential campaign council have both reacted to the attack form the governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo.

In reaction, the spokesman of the Tinubu/Shettima presidential council, Festus Keyamo, described the former CBN governor’s attack statement on Peter Obi as an insightful piece.

“Peter Obi knows that he can’t and won’t win. He knows the game he is playing, and we know too, and he knows that we know….The brutal truth…is that there are two persons/parties seriously contesting for president: the rest is exciting drama!” Soludo wrote in part.

Reacting to the above, Keyamo wrote, “Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, in this insightful piece, has dropped a Kamikaze missile on Peter Obi.”

Dr Yunusa Tanko, the spokesman of the Peter Obi/Ahmad Datti presidential campaign council said, their principal has mandated that they engage only in issue-based campaigns.

Yunusa Tanko tweeted, “We are for the issue-based campaign for the Nigerian People……. We keep moving Obidently and Yusfuly.”
