NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Presidency has officially dismissed any chances of Betta Edu returning to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
This Nigeria news platform understands that the confirmation was made by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga during a recent appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Edu, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, was suspended in January amid allegations of a ₦585 million scandal.
The president had ordered a thorough investigation into the alleged fraud within her ministry, promising to hold accountable anyone found guilty of misconduct.
Onanuga stated, “Betta Edu is gone… Her position has been taken over by someone else,” referring to the new minister, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, a former governorship candidate from Plateau State.
He added: “The EFCC has not shared whatever they have, but if you consider the president’s action, it suggests that the EFCC may have submitted something that justified the president’s decision.”
