PDP Governors are currently meeting ahead of crucial NEC decision on 2027 Presidential Ticket of the party..

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently in a closed-door meeting at the Zamfara State Government House, Gusau.

Although the agenda has not been officially disclosed, the meeting is believed to be connected to the party’s ongoing leadership crisis.

The PDP is scheduled to hold its 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday, where the zoning of the 2027 presidential ticket will be a key issue.

The party is considering three options: zoning the ticket to the South, zoning it to the North, or throwing it open. However, major stakeholders are reportedly in favour of zoning it to the South, arguing that the region still has four years left in the power rotation arrangement.

Further details of the governors’ meeting are expected soon.
