The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, the minister congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the fasting period.
Tunji-Ojo urged adherents to uphold the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice cultivated during Ramadan, stressing their importance in nation-building.
He also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the country’s continued peace, unity, and prosperity.
While wishing Muslims a joyful celebration, the minister encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged.
