BREAKING: DSS Arrests Atiku Abubakar Over Alleged N100 Million Bribe

Isah has been in DSS custody since last week, following a chaotic inauguration where he was declared president despite violence from suspected government-backed thugs.

DSS has arrested Atiku Abubakar over alleged N100 million bribe.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Atiku Abubakar who is the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has been detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) after accusing Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, of offering him a N100 million bribe.

Isah said the money was meant to persuade him to support the government’s agenda, which he refused.

He also accused Seyi Tinubu’s faction within NANS of attacking him, naming rival leader Ladoja Olusola as the person who physically assaulted him.

Isah has been in DSS custody since last week, following a chaotic inauguration where he was declared president despite violence from suspected government-backed thugs.

According to Sources from Sahara Reporters, Isah was pressured into writing a letter retracting his accusations and was forced to pose for a photo holding a gun, which they claim was meant to blackmail him.

A DSS officer told SaharaReporters that although Isah has finished his medical treatment and now only uses eye drops, he is still being held at the DSS hospital in Abuja.

The officer confirmed that Isah’s phone was seized when he was arrested and that his release is conditional on him withdrawing his statements.

A copy of the retraction letter, which SaharaReporters obtained, shows Isah apologising to President Tinubu, Seyi Tinubu, and the Minister of Youths and Sports.

In the letter, he claims his earlier statements were false and based on misleading information. He says he never met Seyi Tinubu in Lagos or Abuja and regrets being used by political opportunists.

Before his detention, Isah had detailed the alleged bribe attempt, saying Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development met with him in Lagos and offered him money.

He claimed that after he rejected the offer, he was abducted on 15 April, stripped naked, and beaten, with the assault filmed to force him to step down as NANS president.

He said the video was shown to him as a threat and that he was warned that if he didn’t cooperate, they could kill him and cover it up.

Isah insisted that despite the intimidation, he went ahead with the inauguration and was declared president.

He accused Seyi Tinubu of being a bad role model and warned that his rise to political power would harm Nigeria.

He also claimed that the Minister of Defence’s secretary and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Affairs had copies of the video showing his assault.

Isah raised concerns about his health after the alleged assault, saying he was hit in the face and now fears losing his eyesight.

He described being beaten with bottles and a machete, which led him to undergo a brain scan.

Despite these experiences, he said his attackers remain free because of their connections to Seyi Tinubu and that his life is still in danger.
