BREAKING: CAC Postpones Revised Service Fees to October 1, 2025

According to a public notice issued on Saturday, the Commission cited the need for more time to fully stabilize its new Company Registration Portal (CRP)

CAC has postponesd revised service fees to October 1, 2025.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a shift in the implementation date of its revised service fees, moving it from September to October 1, 2025.

This marks the second delay in the price hike, which was initially set for August 15 after the Commission first revealed the fee adjustments in June 2025.

According to a public notice issued on Saturday, the Commission cited the need for more time to fully stabilize its new Company Registration Portal (CRP), as several Nigerians seeking to register new companies or submit statutory documents had reported glitches on the platform.

Ensuring Seamless Transition

The CAC emphasized that the decision reflects its commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient transition for all customers and stakeholders. The Commission stated that optimizing the performance of the new registration platform remains a top priority before implementing the revised charges.

The stabilization process of the new system is expected to be completed by mid-September 2025, ensuring that the Commission can deliver “optimum value” and provide a seamless experience for businesses, investors, and the public.

The Commission also reiterated that it is working towards creating a more intelligent, customer-centric registry aligned with global best practices.

“We sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our customers and stakeholders during this critical phase of transformation,” the Commission stated. “We remain committed to building a registry that meets global standards.”

Background on Fee Adjustment

The original fee hike, announced in June 2025, was part of the Commission’s efforts to improve service delivery, enhance efficiency, and adapt to rising operational costs and broader economic pressures. The fees were also seen as crucial to accelerating the ongoing digital transformation of the CAC and ensuring continued, technology-driven services to users.

The fee changes are expected to be modest, competitive, and aligned with the Commission’s goal to enhance the integrity of the Nigerian Corporate Registry and boost investor confidence.
