BREAKING: Arewa Youths Mobilize Hunger Protests Against Tinubu Government

“The Arewa Youth Ambassadors declare unequivocally that the protest will proceed as scheduled unless the government reverses the policies causing widespread hunger and poverty.

Arewa Youths are mobilizing to join the August 1st nationwide hunger protests against the Tinubu Government.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Arewa Youth Ambassadors, a northern group, has affirmed its commitment to proceed with the planned protest starting on August 1, aimed at expressing dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s policies.

This Nigeria news platform understands that the group dismissed rumours that the protest had been cancelled, calling such information false and misleading, and urged Nigerians to ignore it. This was stated by the National Coordinator, Yahaya M. Abdullahi, in Abuja on Saturday.

The statement read, “The narrative that the Arewa Youth Ambassadors have cancelled the planned protest against President Tinubu’s anti-people policies is entirely false and misleading. The protest is set for August 1, 2024, and there is no going back. Globally, governments are made by the people, not the other way around. However, in Nigeria, it seems the government serves only those in power.

“If the President Tinubu-led government truly represents all Nigerians, why the deceit? It is tragic that suffering has become widespread, while the government remains indifferent.

“We feel compelled to protest due to escalating insecurity, ongoing food and fuel crises, unemployment, and the high cost of living affecting our region and the country as a whole.

“The Arewa Youth Ambassadors declare unequivocally that the protest will proceed as scheduled unless the government reverses the policies causing widespread hunger and poverty.

“Is Nigeria not on the brink of revolution? If anything can trigger it, President Tinubu’s policies surely will. Nigerians would rather face death on the streets at the hands of security forces than die of hunger in their homes. Hunger knows no bounds.

“As peaceful citizens, we are left with no option but to protest the anti-masses policies continuously introduced by President Tinubu’s government.”
